About Us

The Right-Reverend Priest Onouphry Keith

Saint Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, had humble beginnings. We began in 1995 in the rector’s house adjacent to our current Church location and conducted Divine Services there for a small time. A year or so later, a small store-front was rented monthly, and the Divine Liturgy was served for the first time. The parish began taking roots and little by little, our memberships grew.

Parish Hierarchy

Saint Nicholas is a parish of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, located in Fletcher, near Asheville, nestled in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina.

We are in the Deanery of the South within the Diocese of Eastern America and New York.

Our ruling bishop is His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, assisted by His Grace George, vicar bishop of Mayfield, Pennsylvania.

Our priest, the Right-Reverend Onouphry Keith, has served Saint Nicholas Parish since 2002. Our Church is mostly comprised of parishioners that converted to Orthodox Christianity from various religious backgrounds, as well as members of Russian and eastern European origin.

Services at Saint Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church are conducted primarily in English, with some Slavonic.
