From the Monastery
“Please join us for our annual Pilgrimage Weekend, to be held on October 2nd & 3rd, the weekend after the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.
On Saturday we will serve a full moleben before the Port Arthur Icon of the Mother of God, the miracle-working icon of St. Anna, and the icon and relics of St. Panteleimon, the monastic community’s patron. Below you will find a commemoration slip, with which you may submit names, together with your alms, before October 2nd, 2010.
If you prefer to submit your names through our Moleben & Pannykhida request page, simply select a moleben to the Mother of God or to St. Panteleimon from the drop down menu and in the “Additional Information” field mention that you are submitting the names for commemoration during Pilgrimage Weekend. Your alms may be then be submitted through our online kiosk.

It has recently been brought to our attention that the Eastern Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia now has a new place to get altar wine. “Dear Work Weekers Old and New!
Christ is Risen!!!
As some of us have discussed, there will be another Work Week here at the Hermitage of the Holy Cross June 6-12. This time, I thought it would be best to organize the event in conjunction with the Eastern American Diocese and the new diocesan organization “Volunteers in Mission” headed by Fr. John Moses. The Eastern American Diocese website has posted the official announcement here:

Click on the link to pull up the application in pdf form.
You can mail your application in to Fr. John (address on the application), or even better, scan and email to him at: frj1951@yahoo.com
I know that for many of you, the circumstances of your life have changed and you will not be able to attend. But I am counting on you to spread the word to those who would like to participate. Facebook, Orthodox Circle – however you wish – please pass this around and come if you can.
We are not charging a fee for attendance, but do need to raise some money for food and for building materials. Please keep that in mind and do what you can.
With love in Christ,
Fr. Alexander
